Escape Beyond the Rainbow

The 2008 Rainbow Ball is expected to enhance its already enviable reputation as being the most anticipated charity events on the Melbourne social and fund raising calendar.

In 2007 Ann Peacock from the Sunday Herald Sun named the Rainbow Ball as one of the two best charity events of the year! Click here to see the 2007 Rainbow Ball. This year's event will be held at the Crown Palladium on Saturday November 15 beginning at 7pm. The theme of this years event is "Escape Beyond The Rainbow" because there will be on offer some truly amazing travel experiences to try and win or purchase.

Guests will have a 1 in 200 chance to win the Ultimate Travel Experience as well as holidays to Las Vegas staying at the iconic Bellagio Hotel as well as a relaxing trip for two to the Maldives.

Marcia Hines headlines the main entertainment for the 2008 Rainbow Ball.

Like last year the finest luxury motor vehicles will also be on offer for auction. A wonderful meal designed by Philippe Mouchel from the brasserie by Philippe Mouchel will be on offer for all guests and entertainment will be provided by Marcia Hines and a yet to be announced suprise performer that will also delight guests.

Tables of ten to the Rainbow Ball can be purchase for $5000 or $500 per head. Sponsorship packages are also available which maybe tax deductible*.

Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Information and Resources

Victorian Anaphylaxis Management Bill
The Victorian Government has taken a leading role in the field of anaphylaxis and food allergies by preparing legislation to enforce the management of anaphylaxis and food allergies in school and preschool environments. To access the Anaphylaxis Management Bill go to the link above, select Parliamentary Documents, and then click on Bills.

Australian Society for Clinical Immunology and Allergy
A range of information can be found on ASCIA’s website, including copies of the Anaphylaxis Management Plans, which are to be completed by your GP and provided to your child’s pre-school or school.

Starting Kinder with Food Allergies
Kylie Sanderson is a Kindergarten teacher and mother to an anaphylactic child and has prepared a brochure to assist parents to prepare their preschool.

Food Allergen Information Kit for Food Businesses
A free information kit has been designed by Maribyrnong Council to assist food businesses in developing their own allergen food matrix. A copy is available for download from the Maribyrnong City Council site (click on title above), or alternatively, you can contact Environmental Health and a copy will be posted to you.
